Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service

Questions & Answers for Residents and Carers

Launching 1 February 2026

What is the Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service?

Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service is a new service to help adults in Havering stay well, independent and connected to their community.

It offers preventative support, before difficulties become a crisis, and makes it easier to find the right help in one place.

Who is the service for?

The service is for adults aged 18+ living in Havering, including:

• people feeling lonely or isolated
• people with long-term health conditions or disabilities
• neurodiverse adults
• people experiencing low mood, stress or anxiety
• unpaid carers and families who need support

You do not need to be in crisis to use the service.

Who runs the service?

The service is delivered by Tapestry Care working with the London Borough of Havering, NHS services and local voluntary sector and community organisations.

Where will support be provided?

Support will be available across Havering, with activities and services based at local Community Hubs in Hornchurch, Rainham and Harold Hill, and outreach support in Romford and nearby areas.

This means help is available close to where you live.

What kind of help can I get?

Support may include:

• wellbeing and confidence-building activities
• social groups and community connections
• mental health and peer support
• food, nutrition and practical advice
• digital help (phones, online services, forms)
• support and advice for carers

You may receive one-to-one support, group activities, or be connected to trusted local organisations.

How do I access the service?

From 1 February 2026, there will be one simple way to access support.

You can:
• contact the service yourself
• ask a family member or carer to contact it
• be referred by your GP, the council, NHS staff or a community organisation

You won’t need to contact lots of different services anymore.

What happens after I get in touch?

You’ll have a friendly conversation with someone from the Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service team.

They will listen to what matters to you and help find the right support for your situation.

This is not an assessment for benefits or social care – it’s about helping you live well.

Will this affect support I already receive?

No one will be left without support.

If you already receive help, the Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service team will make sure support continues and is coordinated properly.

Is there a cost to use the service?

Most support is free or low-cost, depending on the activity.

You will always be told clearly if there is any charge.

Why is this new service being introduced?

Previously, it could be confusing to know where to go for help.

Living Well makes it:

• easier to find support
• quicker to get the right help
• more joined-up
• focused on supporting people before difficulties grow

When does the service start?

The service launches on 1 February 2026.

More information on how to contact the service will be shared before then.

What should I do now if I need help?

Continue using your current services as normal.

Clear contact details for the Living Well Community Wellness & Empowerment Service will be published ahead of the launch.
